Erm.. yeah. Sorry for the long hiatus. As you know it, I'm not going to publish anymore reviews for GM. You can read the latest reviews (and stuff) from BlogKencang.

However, this is not the end for GamerMalaya. I will continue to update my games development here. For other ramblings and rants, you can just visit my blog. (Google it yourself :p) Until next time.

Bolas's Bitch

Greetings geeks. My name is Rexxarro and I shall be the Magic writer in this blog. I used to be as big of a gamer as our master Ed here but I've been playing less and less game in the recent years. One game that I'm still dedicated to is Magic: The Gathering. So from here on, I shall be writing only about Magic.

Magic's latest expansion, Mirrodin Beseiged is coming out in a few weeks. I could be talking about the whole set but I'm actually here to talk about a particular card. None other than the planeswalker Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas.

I've heard many complaints about this card. Mostly came from people comparing it to Jace, the Mind Sculptor. I however really love the new Tezzeret. It is not broken (unlike Jace 2.0) and it has the "build around me" feel to it. Let's take a look at the card.

The mana cost and the loyalty. Four mana with 3 loyalty is just right. It works for Jace, It works for Garruk. It will work for Tezzeret.

The first ability. A lot of complaint that I heard for this ability is that because it is not a +2. But think about it. At +1, you got a pseudo-tutor. You filter through five cards. Since you will be playing an artifact deck with Tezzeret anyway (why else would you play him?), you should be able to find something useful. Or you could just use it for a cheap cantrip just to have something to discard to Molten-tail Masticore next turn.

The second ability. This is where the fun is. It is important to note that this effect does not end at the end of turn. And you can also target an artifact creature with it. So your Ornithopter is now a 5/5 flyer. Turn your spellbombs into an army of 5/5 that have a death trigger. Opponent has removals? Turn your Darksteel Axe into an indestructible 5/5. Your Chrome Steed is a 7/7 with metalcraft. Hell, you can even make an infect deck using only artifact infecters.

The ultimate. The ultimate doesn't look too sexy. Then again, you can activate it the turn after Tezzeret hit play. So if you hit it late game, you would (well, you should) have a bunch of artifacts in play already. Besides, when was the last time you use Jace's ultimate anyway? Also, think of how broken Tezzeret's ultimate in Legacy Affinity deck.

That's it for now. I would definitely hunt my 4 copies of Tezzeret. The Johnny in me just begging to abuse this card. Whether offline or online, I haven't decided yet.

Furious Chicks

I just can’t believe how a simple game like this can be so addictive. Maybe because it’s just cute and annoying at the same time.

The objective is simple. To slingshot a bird across the field to hit the pigs on the platform. You could hit an object to make it fell on the pig to gain points. Of course, the less bird you throw, the more points you get.

However, it is not all that easy. Some structures are stronger than usual. You just have to hit the right spot to make it all come tumbling down.

Overall, it’s worth to spend your $0.99 (RM 3) on this fun game.

Kane and Lynch 2 : Dog Days Demo

Yes, it is out. On Steam (PC), X-Box Live, and PSN. To be honest, I have never played the previous game because of the poor reviews. My expectation? Nothing.

The demo start with you using Lynch trying to escape from the police. It’s a Third Person Shooter with ala Gears of War cover mechanic. But it reminds me a lot of Army of Two. The only thing I don’t like is the grainy effect and it seems I can’t turn it off (or tune it down a lil).

Other than that, it’s a great game. Coop anyone? (Kane and Lynch 2 Dog Days will be out on 27th August on PC/XBox 360/PS3)

This game will be release on 27th April on PS3, 360, Wii, PSP and iPhone. No PC? Grr…
